Unified Web3 infrastructure enabling seamless
Apillon is a Web3 infrastructure platform backed by $3.6 million in seed funding that transforms how developers build decentralized applications on Polkadot. Rather than forcing developers to learn and integrate with multiple blockchain networks separately, Apillon provides a unified development experience through comprehensive APIs, SDKs, and CLI tools. These tools abstract the complexity of Polkadot's multi-parachain ecosystem, including specialized networks like Moonbeam, Crust, and KILT. Their vision is to unlock mass adoption of Web3 by removing infrastructure barriers and making decentralized application development as intuitive and scalable as traditional web development.
As Apillon entered a growth phase, their development team needed to accelerate delivery of key platform components, specifically Storage, Hosting, and Infrastructure modules. With milestone-driven funding from the Polkadot Foundation and increasing developer demand, Apillon sought additional engineering expertise to expand their team capacity and ensure robust, scalable performance of their solutions.
The full story.
Working within an agile development methodology with weekly sprints and daily standups, we contributed to multiple platform components using a modular, cloud-native architecture built on NestJS and AWS services. We implemented a continuous deployment pipeline using GitHub webhooks and AWS Lambda that automatically deploys applications to IPFS with secure KMS-managed secrets. Additionally, we developed "Simplets", self-contained NFT campaign templates using Nuxt.js and Express.js with integrated Phala TEE for privacy-preserving logic.
In partnership with Dwellir, we built RPC-as-a-Service implementing AWS Lambda orchestration and Stripe subscription management to provide scalable blockchain infrastructure. We also facilitated strategic ecosystem integrations with Acurast for decentralized compute, IPFS for distributed storage, and Subsocial for social features. Furthermore, we refactored the inherited legacy codebase to improve performance and maintainability.
All contributions met the strict open-source quality standards required for Web3 infrastructure, ensuring transparency and community trust. The platform continues to operate successfully with consistent feature releases, with our contributions helping position Apillon as the foundational backend layer for Web3 development within the Polkadot ecosystem.

NestJS in TypeScript powers the modular backend that unifies Storage, Hosting, and Infrastructure modules behind a single API surface, with MySQL persisting developer projects, deployments, and billing state. A Vue frontend gives developers a single pane of glass over the Polkadot parachain ecosystem, and AWS - Lambda for deployment orchestration, KMS for secrets, and managed services for scale - ties the whole platform together.
