Engineer
the harder
things.
extra.dev is a boutique studio of senior engineers and designers. We hire slowly, pay well, and expect you to own the whole outcome - not just your slice of it.
Four things
we don't negotiate on.
Small teams, senior people.
No junior + manager pairings. Every engagement is staffed with two to four people who can each own a hard problem end-to-end.
Ship, then polish.
Nothing lives in staging for a week. We deploy daily, and we expect everyone here to be comfortable putting their own work in front of a user.
Write it down.
We keep a culture of short, public memos - decisions, trade-offs, post-mortems. The studio compounds when the reasoning is legible.
Sustainable pace.
We don’t celebrate overwork and we respect when you’re offline. The studio has to survive for years, not quarters.
The expected things,
done properly.
Transparent salary bands
We publish the range on every job ad. No haggling, no guessing.
Fully remote
EU timezone (CET/CEST). Async by default.
Profit sharing
Everyone shares the upside. Paid out transparently.
Equipment budget
Whatever makes your home studio work well.
Learning sessions
Every two weeks. Rotating topics, across the whole studio.
Team retreats
A few times a year, all paid, somewhere worth being.
No micromanagement
You own the work end to end. Fewer meetings, more doing.
Long-term roles
We invest in people who stay. Careers here are built to last.
Four steps,
no take-homes.
We don't do leetcode, whiteboards, or unpaid work. Start to offer is usually two weeks.
CV review
We read every application ourselves - no recruiter filter, no ATS scoring. If your work looks like a fit, we'll come back within a week.
< 1 wkIntro call with the CEO
A 30-minute conversation about how you work, what you care about, and what you're looking for next. Mostly we're checking for cultural fit on both sides.
30 minTechnical call
60 to 90 minutes with the CTO and one of your future coworkers. We walk through your work and ours - no hypotheticals, just actual things you've shipped.
1 dayOffer
We make an offer within 48 hours of the working day. You get seven days to sit with it and talk to whoever you need to.
