Olimpija Ljubljana Football Club

Leading Slovenian football club with
Olimpija Ljubljana is a prominent football club based in Slovenia's capital city, with a dedicated fanbase throughout Southeast Europe. As the club continues to grow its influence beyond domestic competitions, they recognized the need to modernize their digital presence to match their sporting ambitions and enhance how supporters engage with the team online.
We partnered with Olimpija's team on their website redesign, handling the challenging technical aspects needed to bring their vision to life. The project scope included migrating hundreds of articles and media assets from legacy systems while preserving complete data integrity, automating match data integration through third-party APIs to streamline content management workflows, improving overall platform performance, and extending the capabilities of the Divi visual builder to achieve the precise branding requirements the new design demanded.
The full story.
We developed multiple technical solutions to address the project requirements. For content migration, we programmatically transferred all legacy materials with URL remapping to preserve SEO rankings and user bookmarks. The match data automation used scheduled server-side cronjobs that fetch and store fixtures, results, and league standings locally from third-party APIs, ensuring fast page loads. We extended the visual builder capabilities through custom PHP templates, advanced CSS, and interactive JavaScript components that maintained the team's editorial flexibility. We improved WordPress performance and configured BunnyCDN to ensure fast, consistent load times for media-heavy pages globally.
The complete solution was delivered on schedule following a six-month collaborative development process, establishing a scalable platform that now powers the club's digital presence and supporter engagement initiatives.
